Michael Dubart “Mike” Anderson, age 80

 

 

Mr. Michael Dubart “Mike” Anderson, age 80, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away Friday, September 12, 2025. Mr. Anderson grew up in Oklahoma City, OK; attended Oklahoma Military Academy, Oklahoma State University, and Webster University.

Mr. Anderson was a decorated Captain in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and he continued service in the Arkansas National Guard. Mike worked for Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield for 38 years as a governmental relations representative, and at KARK-TV in Little Rock. Mr. Anderson also served for more than

20 years as a commissioner of the Pulaski County Fire Protection District #5 (dba Sherwood Fire Department). Mike enjoyed decades of working at the Arkansas State Capitol, and became friends with many elected officials at all levels of government.

Michael Dubart Anderson was born August 2, 1945 in Texarkana, Arkansas. He was the son of the late Ezra Anderson and the late Edna Anderson. He loved his family, and enjoyed watching science fiction movies. He was a member of the Sylvan Hills

United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Doris Anderson of Sherwood; three sons and daughters-in-law, Kyle Anderson (Brandi), Guy Brennan Anderson (Christy),

Jodie Hartman (Daina), and two daughters and sons-in-law, Antonia Elizabeth Montague (J.D.), and Jamie Hartman (Josh).

Mr. Anderson is also survived by grandchildren:

Nathan Anderson (Sarah), Connor Anderson, Michael Logan Zane Anderson, Brian Montague (Chloe), Benjamin Montague,

Jennifer Montague, Kira Anderson, Michael Lee Anderson, Cody Hartman, Austin Hartman (Kennedy), Chase Hartman, Bentley Michaels, Peyton Michaels, Lance Michaels, and Reese Michaels.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by one son Lance Michael Anderson, and two sisters Grace McBride and Sandra Johnson.

    I worked with Mr. Anderson (Mike) at ABCBS. He was a very kind and Reserved man with quiet dignity. My condolences to the Anderson Family.
