Leo Patrick Johnson, age 66

Leo Patrick Johnson passed away peacefully at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Little Rock on May 18th, 2025. Leo was born on June 4th, 1958. He is survived by his sons Matthew Johnson, Benjamin Johnson and his daughter Sara Wilson. And his 4 grandchildren Nathanial Johnson, Audrey Wilson, Hannah Wilson and Landyn Johnson , sister Rebecca Johnson, sister Rachel Shelby, brother Richard Johnson, and sister Tracy Reeves. He was preceded in death by siblings Arch Johnson, Janis Johnson, and Samuel (James) Johnson, father Ward Johnson, and Mother Frances Virginia  Johnson.

Leo was born in Espanola, New Mexico to Ward W. Johnson, and Frances Virgina Davies. He spent his younger years in Los Alamos, New Mexico, and finished his high school years in College Mound, Missouri graduating from Macon High school in 1976.

Leo served his country in the United States Army from May of 1976 to August of 1978. He spent most of his service deployed to Germany. Leo was very proud of his military service.

The seventh child of eight children, raised by a widowed father, Leo was a child full of fun and mischief. His older sister, Janis, referred to him as Babe Buckshot because his prized toy was a pair of toy six shooters he wore in holsters around his little 5 year old waist.  His brother Sam just called him Moose because Leo towered over his other 3 brothers and was a bit clumsy in his younger years. If there was an adventure to be had you can be assured Leo was either the instigator or a willing participant.

Leo was a proud father of three children. He spent most of his working years as a HVAC technician at Thomas Hill Power Plant in Missouri. He supported his  family with hard work and dedication.

Leo never knew a stranger, he would talk to anyone. He made friends easily. He had a generous heart. If you ever needed help, Leo was that proverbial sheep dog he was there to keep the wolves away. Once you had his loyalty, you could count on him if the need arose. Leo loved his family. He loved nothing better than when his extended family came to visit. He was always the last one to go to bed. Fly high, Dad you will truly be missed.
