Jeff Dwayne Diggs, a man who marched to the beat of his own drum, laid down his sticks at the age of 61 on August 15, 2024, in Sherwood, Arkansas. Born on June 7, 1963, in Aberdeen, Maryland, Jeff turned his childhood curiosity of tapping pots and pans into a life-long rhythm that kept his family and friends tapping their feet.
Jeff’s life was rich with experiences shaped by frequent moves during his childhood due to his father’s military career, living in diverse locales including North Carolina, Tennessee, Colorado, California, Germany, and South Korea. These experiences instilled in him a unique perspective on life and a resilient spirit.
For 30 years, Jeff steered his forklift with the same precision and care at Hiland Dairy as he did in the lives he touched. A husband and father who was the “rock” his family built their lives on, and a drummer who knew life was better with a soundtrack.
Survived by the “Love of a Lifetime”, Ginny Diggs, their sonnets of love include daughters Emily D’Alessio (Joseph) and Hannah Cleghorn (Trent), along with granddaughters Amelia and Charlotte, who were the sweetest notes in his life’s song. Jeff’s brother, Jim Diggs also remains to carry on his legacy. His loyal schnauzer companions, Gus and Gunther will surely miss their “fun guy”. Preceding him in the great gig in the sky were his parents, Jim and Barbara Diggs, his in-laws, George and Helen Snipan, a band of relatives, and his angel schnauzers, Schultz and Gretchen.
In a final encore that’s true to his unique style, Jeff requested a silent coda. His was a life well-played, from the campfires he built to keep his family warm, to the beats he left in our hearts. Jeff, your final curtain call may have come, but your melody lingers on.
Please share with us a song that reminds you of our Jeff.

Jeff you will be forever missed. I’ll miss talking to you about music and hot sauce. Don’t worry about your girls, I have their backs always and forever ❤️ The song that makes me think of you is “Carry On Wayward Son” by Kansas. “Carry on, my wayward son there’ll be peace when you’re done, lay your weary head to rest, don’t you cry no more.” Love always ~ Heather ❤️
Praying for peace and comfort during this time. We love you all! ❤️
